Barrington Hall

  • Built / Designed For: John Shales Barrington

House & Family History: Barrington Hall may have been designed by Joseph Sanderson circa 1734. The service wing, including the kitchen, dates from circa 1790. The house was altered to its present Jacobethan style by Edward Browning in 1863. The British Livestock Company purchased Barrington in 1977 and used the house for offices; it later became the headquarters of a perfume company, a purpose it served until 2014. Barrington Hall, together with 41 acres, was listed for sale for £15 million in November of 2019.
