House & Family History: The current (2006) owner of Barbreck, David Campbell, purchased the semi-ruinous Palladian house in 1985. Campbell is famous as the man who saved and made a huge success of the venerable publisher Everyman's Library. Ironically, Barbreck was built in the 1790s for a member of the Campbell clan.
