Baldersby Park (Newby Park)

  • House & Family History: Baldersby is considered the first villa built in England in the Palladian style and is a near-twin of Stourhead House, both designed by Colen Campbell. These two houses became the prototype of the Palladian English country house. The interior of the house was rebuilt after a 1902 fire. Since 1983 Baldersby has been home to Queen Mary's School, a member of The Woodard Corporation, an Anglican foundation.
