House & Family History: Baguley Hall is a 14th century house built entirely of timber, with wattle and daub walls (with probably the oldest surviving timber great hall in England). In the 17th and 18th centuries alterations were made to the House, including the remodeling of the North Wing and the addition of the South Wing. Baguley fell on hard times and was used as a farm building until the mid-20th century, when it was abandoned. It was rescued by English Heritage and is today a Scheduled Ancient Monument and listed on English Heritage's Buildings at Risk Register.
