A 1787 engraving of the house from "The Beauties of England"
Collections: One of Gainsborough's most famous paintings, "Mr. and Mrs. Andrews," once hung in Auberies (see "Images" section). Today in the collection of The National Gallery, London, the circa 1750 painting shows the owners of Auberies, with a surprising frankness, next to an English oak (which, much larger, still exists on the estate), clearly proud of their rich agricultural estate.
