Garden & Outbuildings: Between 1900 and his death in 1966, Richard Arthur Grove-Annesley laid out a famous river garden of exotic flowering shrubs at Anne's Grove, including hoheria, embothrium, and eucryphia. In the early 20th century Grove-Annesley supported plant-hunting expeditions led by Frank Kingdon-Ward to Tibet, Bhutan, and Burma.
