House & Family History: The Elizabethan style Abbeystead was built in the late 19th century as a hunting lodge and was later converted into a country house. It was at Abbeystead that Gerald Grosvenor, 6th Duke of Westminster, died on August 9, 2016.
Garden & Outbuildings: The Abbeystead Estate is 20,000 acres and holds the record for the biggest grouse bag in one day: on August 12, 1915, when 2,929 birds were shot by eight guns.
