House & Family History: Yarnton was used as military hospital during the Civil War. After the war ended the north and south wings were demolished and the house was used as a farmhouse for 245 years, until its purchase and restoration in 1895 by H.R. Franklin. For much of the 20th century Yarnton Manor served as accommodation for students of Oxford Royale Academy. In June of 2021 the school listed the house, together with 30 acres, for sale for £9 million.
