Wolviston Hall

  • House & Family History: The Webster family owned Wolviston Hall from the 1880s, purchasing it from Captain Young. The House was used as a prison for German and Italian prisoners of war in 1943. Manor Court, a housing development, replaced Wolviston Hall in 1966.

Comments: House's early history remains unclear. House was possibly Rose Villa, seat of Robert Appleby. House passed from Thomas Appleby to Thomas Skinner.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: At the rear of the House there was a range of greenhouses.
