House & Family History: The Henley family sold Waterperry to Magdalen College in 1925. Seven years later Waterperry Horticultural School was opened as a residential horticultural college for women. In the 1970s Waterperry House became the Fellowship of the School of Economic Science. It is today a horticultural and garden center.
Comments: Waterston Manor was Thomas Hardy's model for Bathsheba Everdene's 'Weatherbury Farm' in "Far From the Madding Crowd."
Garden & Outbuildings: The gardens were laid out in the early 20th century by Percy Morley- Horder.
