Uppercourt Manor (Upperwood)

  • Built / Designed For: Sir William de Montmorency

House & Family History: Like many Protestant country houses, Uppercourt ended up being acquired by the Catholic Church after Irish independence. In this case, the House was purchased by the Mill Hill Fathers in the 1930s. The priests established a boys’ secondary school here that was in operation until the 1980s. In 2015 the House, together with 36 acres, was listed for sale for €1.35 million.
