Tudenham Park House (Rochfort House)

  • Built / Designed For: George Rochfort

House & Family History: Tudenham Park played a prominent role in the building of the famous Jealous Wall, Ireland's largest folly. The Jealous Wall was erected by Robert Rochfort (the brother of George Rochfort, who built Tudenham Park) specifically to block the view of his brother's neighboring house. It seems likely that, in addition to the falling out over money that apparently occurred between the brothers, that Robert built the folly out of jealously over his brother's larger and grander house. In December of 2013 Tudenham Park House and some land was sold at auction for €681,000.
