Shirley House (Shirley Manor) (Shirley Park)

  • House & Family History: By 1913 Shirley House had been converted into the Shirley Park Hotel, but it was hostelry for only a short time before it became a convalescent hospital for officers wounded during World War I. After the war ended in 1918, the house was returned to use as a hotel and golf club, a purpose it continued to serve until 1961, when the Shirley Park Hotel was demolished and replaced by Trinity School.
