Latimer House (Latimer Abbey) (Latimers)

    House & Family History: During World War II Latimer was requisitioned by the government and used as a center for secret military intelligence. In 1951 the British government purchased the House from the Cavendish family and converted it for use as the National Defence College, a purpose it served until 1983, when it was sold and converted into a conference center (later a hotel).
