The house from a circa 1900 postcard

Built / Designed For: Edward Jones-Agnew
House & Family History: During World War II the castle was used to house Belgian troops and soldiers from the United States 644th Tank Destroyer Battalion. After the war Kilwaughter Castle was abandoned and left to decay; eventually the roof and floors collapsed, leaving the house a shell. In 2021 a local couple, Ryan Greer and Helenna Howie, purchased part of the castle from Anne Ferguson; the couple plan to restore the house and eventually make it their home.
Garden & Outbuildings: At its height in the 19th century, the Kilwaughter Castle Estate spanned 10,000 acres.
