House & Family History: In 1947 Hickleton was leased by the Wood family to the Order of the Holy Paraclete Convent, who operated St. Hilda's Church of England girls' school in the house until 1960. In 1961 Hickleton Hall, together with 17 acres of parkland, was sold to the Sue Ryder Trust, who ran it as a care home until 2012. In 2015 the house was offered for sale for £2 million. As of early 2018 Hickleton was on the market again, having gone unsold, with an asking price of £1.5 million.
