Hams Hall

  • Earlier Houses: The 1760s house replaced an earlier house.

Built / Designed For: C.B. Adderley

House & Family History: Most of the interior of Hams Hall was rebuilt in the late 18th century and contained a copy of Bertel Thorvaldsen's Babylon frieze. This interior was gutted by fire on April 22, 1890, but rebuilt. The house was demolished in 1920, though stonework from the upper stories (and many of the house's fittings) was incorporated into the rebuilding of Coates Manor (today Bledisloe House). The spot originally occupied by the house is today home to Hams Hall Power Station.
