Fordell Castle (Fordell House)

  • Earlier Houses: There was at least one earlier house on, or near, the current house. Mary, Queen of Scots, supposedly stayed at the earlier Fordell Castle.

    House & Family History: In November of 2007 Fordell Castle was sold for £3,850,000.

    House Replaced By: The castle was replaced as the Henderson family's seat in the 1720s, when Fordell House was built nearby. This 18th century house was demolished in the 20th century and the family returned to Fordell Castle.
