House & Family History: Detmar Blow's New Fonthill House (originally called Little Ridge) incorporated 17th century elements from Berwick St. Leonards Manor House.
House Replaced By: New Fonthill House was demolished in the early 1970s and replaced by the current Fonthill House, designed by Trenwith Wills.
Collections: Jan Brueghel the Elder's "A Village Market" was sold to a private party Christie's on April 18, 1985 for £486,000. New Fonthill House had furnishings designed by Owens Jones for Alfred Morrison.
Garden & Outbuildings: The Fonthill Estate, which today spans 9,000 acres, includes the sites of all the various houses with the word Fonthill in them.
