Dysart House

  • Earlier Houses: There was an earlier house named The Hermitage that was destroyed by fire in 1721 or 1722.

    Collections: In the 1750s the Adam brothers (Robert, John, and James) sold chimneypieces to General James St. Clair for installation in Dysart House (no longer in situ).

  • Garden & Outbuildings: In 1929 the grounds were gifted by Sir Michael Nairn to Kirkcaldy Town Council to be used as a public park (today Ravenscraig Park).
