    House & Family History: John Hare purchased Docking Hall in 1597. Hare was father to the 1st Lord Coleraine, a descendant of Robert, Earl of Sussex. The Christian family inherited the House, taking the name and arms of the Hare family in 1798. Ewan Christian rebuilt Docking circa 1859.
