House & Family History: Chewton Priory was built pre-1791 for the Waldegrave family in the Gothick style. The House was demolished circa 1955 and nothing remains today, save the late 18th century Gothick-style Lodge.
House Replaced By: Chewton House is probably the estate's late 17th century manor house.
Garden & Outbuildings: The extant Gothick-style Lodge has a tree trunk veranda.
