House & Family History: Little is known of the original architect of Ashgrove. It seems likely that the core of the current house was built no earlier than 1760; after that the only thing known is that George Basevi worked here circa 1828 for William Haldimand (who was responsible for much of the financing of the building of Belgrave Square in London). The resulting House is partially in yellow brick in a weak Gothic style, with unsympathetic additions by the school.
Garden & Outbuildings: The Stables are in the same weak Gothic style as the House.
