Aldourie Castle

  • House & Family History: Aldourie was the family home of the Arts & Crafts artist Mary Seton Watts (born Mary Seton Fraser-Tytler). In 2014 Anders Holch Povlsen purchased the Aldourie Estate for £15 million. In 2019 it was reported that Povlsen owns 221,000 acres of land in Scotland, making him the largest landowner in the country.

Comments: Historic Environment Scotland calls Aldourie "...an exceptional example of 19th century Baronial architecture."
