House & Family History: Dabton is a house of pink sandstone ashlar in the classical villa style, designed by William Atkinson in 1820 as the house for the chamberlain (agent) of the Drumlanrig Estate. A major addition to the east was added circa 1840. The dairy block is a single-story addition, probably of 1820s, attached to the northeast corner of the house.
Garden & Outbuildings: Extant is the stable and kennel court, in addition to a fine lodge of circa 1820 at the west entrance of the drive.
